Board Bio's...

Carol Zukiwiski (Chairperson) lives in Edmonton and is serving her 5th term as Chair of PEP. Carol has practiced law for almost 25 years, and has considerable experience with various types of non-profit organizations.

Craig Wehner(Vice-Chair) has served on the board since November 2014.  He is  orginally from South Africa and now a resident of Sherwood Park for the past 8 years. Craig is employed with Ingersoll Rand Canada as the Distribution Sales Manager for Specialty Tools Western Canada. He has been on a number of boards such as the Guild of Air Traffic Controllers as VP Finance for 10 years and represented South Africa at the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers. For the last 6 years Craig is involved with a personal experience with  PEP, PChAD and the U-Turn programs.  

Pat Kuefler (Treasurer) is a resident of Sherwood Park for 15 years and joined the PEP board in November 2015. She is a retired business woman formerly in retail management for an education institution, department store an bookstore. Besides her volunteer position on the board, Pat volunteers at the Strathcona Library and as an ESL (English Second Language) tutor in the County. She says she is eternally grateful for the support and information she received as a parent participant at PEP and is a great addition to our volunteer board of directors.

Natalie Wehner(Secretary)  has been on the board since 2014.  Natalie is orignally from South Africa and has been a resident of Sherwood Park for 8 years. She is a self-employed consultant/ project manager. Her experience and skill set is an asset to the board. For the last 6 years, Natalie has personal experience with Parent support meetings, PChAD and the U-Turn programs.

Chris Risling (Director) is a senior manager with the provincial government and has been an active board member with PEP since 2004. Chris has first-hand knowledge of the power of the PEP professional facilitation programs. She is currently the Vice-Chair, a Parent Mentor, and does presentations about the Society to community and other professional organizations.

Lissa Tufford (Director)  joined the board in November 2015. She resides in Edmonton, Alberta and holds a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP)designation. She has been the People Services Manager at Mixcor Aggregates since moving to Alberta in 2008. She is the mother of two and has some personal experience dealing with an addicted child and the power of PEP's programs. Lissa willingly shares her story wiht other parents and groups to provide education and awareness.

Carmen Metz (Director) is a day home provider in Strathcona County and joined the board in 2014. She previously enjoyed a career as a substitute teacher with Edmonton Public Schools. Carmen recognizes the far reaching impact that alcohol and drug abuse has on families and is committed to supporting others.

Brenda McNeil(Director) Brenda joined the board in November 2015. She was previously employed for 7 years as a special needs educational assistant. Currently she is exploring new opportunities and is an independant distributor in the health and wellness field. Her volunteer experience includes 5 years with a program called "The Kids and I". Brenda is a parent who says she is blessed by the support and education at Parents Empowering Parents (PEP) Society.

Lorraine Yoneda(Director) Lorraine joined the board in November 2016. She also is the Volunteer Chair of Fund Development Committee since June 2016. She has lived in Sherwood Park for 27 years with her husband and has 3 daughters and 6 grandkids. Lorraine has many years experience with fundraising and event planning and is active in the community.
